Call for Papers

ICT INNOVATIONS 2017 Conference Aims and Scope

The main objective of the conference is to connect academia, data professionals, enterprises, and startups active in the data innovation ecosystem. It will create and manage a vibrant environment where they can share the latest discoveries, best practices, and learn about drive data innovation. The conference will promote the development of models, methods and instruments of data science and will provide a unique environment for the presentation and discussion of new approaches and prototypes in the field.

The conference will consist of regular sessions with technical contributions (regular papers) reviewed and selected by an international program committee, as well as of invited talks presented by leading scientists. Different workshops will be held in line with the main conference. The official language of the conference will be English.

This year the ICT Innovations conference will be co-located with the ECML-PKDD 2017 (European Conference on Machine Learning). Both conferences will take place at the same time and venue. Each participant of ICT Innovations will have full access to all sessions and events of the ECML-PKDD conference, and vice-versa.

ICT INNOVATIONS 2017 Publications

All full papers will be included in the conference proceedings that will be published by Springer in Communications in Computer and Information Science Series (CCIS), ISSN: 1865:0929. CCIS is abstracted/indexed in DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, SCOPUS. CCIS volumes are also submitted for the inclusion in Thompson Reuters ISI Proceedings.

A revised and extended version of the Best Papers of the Conference might be accepted for publication in a Special Issue of Informatica (http://www.informatica.si/index.php/informatica), after a further peer review stage.

Accepted workshop and short papers will be published in the established and cited web proceedings with DOI numbers (http://proceedings.ictinnovations.org/). Additional information is available at http://ictinnovations.org/.

This year’s special conference topic is “Data-driven Innovation”.

ICT INNOVATIONS 2017 Programme Committee

The ICT Innovations program committee consists of more than 170 distinguished scientists from 49 different countries.

ICT INNOVATIONS 2017 Workshops and Special Sessions

The conference traditionally supports organization of workshops and special sessions. If you are interested to propose a special session or a workshop, please send your proposal to: dimitar.trajanov@finki.ukim.mk or verica.bakeva@finki.ukim.mk.

PAPER SUBMISSION

Submissions are to be made through the EasyChair Conference Management System: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=9ict2017.

Authors are invited to submit full papers (up to 10 pages) in Springer LNCS style (for more information, refer to http://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines). The review process will be a double-blind peer review. Papers must be based on unpublished, mature and original work and must be submitted to ICT Innovations 2017 only. At least one author of each accepted contribution is required to register (registration with conference proceedings) for the Conference. The maximum number of accepted papers per author/co-author is two.

ICT INNOVATIONS Previous Conferences

In the last eight years, the ICT Innovations conference has established itself as the fundamental summit where participants can share best practices and experiences in academic research and practical applications in a pleasant and motivating environment.

The previous ICT Innovations conferences gathered submissions from authors from 30 different countries. Approximately, 70 high-quality papers and 10 posters are presented during the conference each year. On average, 30 papers with highest grades are then published in Springer conference proceedings.

ICT INNOVATIONS 2017 Topics

The special conference topic this year is “Data-driven Innovation”.

Data-driven innovation forms a key pillar in the 21st century sources of growth. The confluence of several trends, including the increasing migration of socio-economic activities to the Internet and the decline in the cost of data collection, storage and processing, are leading to the generation and use of huge volumes of data. These large data sets are becoming a core asset in research and the economy, fostering new discoveries, new industries, new processes and new products.

Data innovation is happening everywhere. It is transforming how and what people purchase, and how they communicate and collaborate. In response, data and analytics are being used to motivate radical new business models and disrupt traditional industry structures. Outperforming organizations will be those that make data and analytics central to their innovation processes, as well as to the innovation itself. Data promises to provide the input for creative endeavors and new ideas. But the importance of data and analytics will transcend ideation and inspiration.

Authors are invited to submit original works in relevant fields, especially if related to Data-driven Innovations, including, but not restricted to: Data Science, Data Extraction, Data Analytics, Complex Systems, Cyber-Physical Systems, Internet of Things, Smart Grid Analytics, Distributed and Parallel Algorithms for Data Science, Machine Learning in the Data Science Context, Data Analytics in Small Business Enterprises, Big Data as a Service, Coding Theory, 3D Printing and Bioprinting, Ambient Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Assistive technologies, Attention and New Technologies, Augmented Reality, Big Data Analytics, Bioinformatics & Biomedical Engineering, Bio-interfaces, Cloud Computing, Cognitive Computing, Collaborative Environments, Computer Games, Content Repositories & Open Source Content, Context-aware Systems, Cyber Security, Data Mining & Information Retrieval, Digital Preservation, Digital Signal & Image Processing, Distributed & Parallel Processing, Eco-informatics, E-commerce & E-governance, E-health, Embedded Systems, Emerging Mobile Technologies, Emerging Technologies for Learning, Emotion Aware Systems, Energy Efficiency for ICT, Grid Computing, Haptic Interfaces, Innovative Media and Tools, Internet & Web Applications, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Machine Translation, Machine Vision, Moral and Ethical Aspects of AI and ICT, Natural Language Processing, Numerical & Symbolic Computation, Pattern Recognition, Personalized Adaptive Technologies, Personalized Medicine, Pervasive Technologies, Robotics & Automation, Security & Cryptography, Self-aware and Self-expressive systems, Semantic Interoperability, Semantic Web, Semantic-aware Systems, Smart TV, Social Collaboration and Social Media, Speech Recognition & Synthesis, Technology Assisted Creativity, Ubiquitous Computing, Universal Translation Technologies, Visualization, Virtual Reality, Wearable Technologies, Wireless Communication & Sensor Networks.
